Lillian I. Kauffman, 93, a resident at Hearthstone at Maidencreek, and formerly of Hamburg, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of Oliver R. Kauffman, died December 8, 1983.

Born in Upper Bern Twp., she was the daughter of the late John A.R. and Edna S. (Degler) Kauffman. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. Lillian worked at Burkey Underwear Company from 1942-1949. She and her husband were owners of Oliver R. Kauffman's Appliances, Hamburg for many years. Lillian volunteered at church coordinating the bulletin sponsorships for 30 years. She was a member of Blue Mt. Senior Center, The Hamburg Senior Citizens, and the Widowed Persons Group. She also enjoyed embroidery.

Lillian is survived by two sons: Ray A. husband of Shirley (Naftzinger) Kauffman, Reinholds; and Donald C. husband of Joanne A. (Gilbert) Kauffman, Laurel, MD; four granddaughters: Shelley J. Kauffman wife of David T. Osgood, Shillington, Tracy L. (Kauffman) wife of Jason D. Astheimer, Mohnton, Stephanie K. (Kauffman) wife of Robert S. Schwartz, Richlandtown, and Lauren E. Kauffman, Laurel, MD; and seven great-grandchildren: Schuyler, Adam, Noah, Abigail, Lucas, Carter, and Cole. She was predeceased by two brothers: John W. and Lester W. Kauffman; and a sister: Helen (Kauffman) Phillips.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear).
