Leslie G. Weller, "Les", "Pinky", 75, of Dauberville, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Ara R. (Schaner) Weller. They were married on September 11, 1971 and celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.
Born in Leesport, he was the son of the late Leonard M. and Gladys B. (Miller) Weller. He was a 1965 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. Les was a U.S. Navy SeaBee and veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two tours. He first worked for Stanley Althouse, Brush Wellman and Hepner's in Leesport. Les also worked for twenty-five years for SuperValu Grocery; and last worked for nine years for Hamburg Manufacturing, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Les enjoyed woodworking, making sauerkraut and playing on his Kindle.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Angela S. (Weller), wife of Brad Scheipe, Leesport; Katrina A. (Weller), wife of Matthew Witman, Blandon; and Troy A. Weller, husband of Heather (Hoffert) Weller, Leesport; six grandchildren: Alyson and Aidan Witman; Logan and Gabriel Weller; and Jacob and Tanner Jerdan. Les was predeceased by a brother: Dana M. Weller; and a sister: Carlene (Weller) Searfoss.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial with military honors will be in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Friday 9:30 to 11:00 am. In honor of Les and his favorite color, those attending are encouraged to wear something red. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
