LeRoy W. Younker, "Smoke", 64, of Richmond Twp., died Saturday, September 24, 2011 in his residence. He was the fiance of Carol E. Schaeffer, with whom he resided.

Born in Blandon, he was the son of the late Martin A. and Loretta V. (Wagner) Younker. He worked for Dana Corporation, Reading, for thirty years retiring in 1998. LeRoy was the owner and operator of Younker's Farm Equipment, Maidencreek Twp. He was a true supporter of the Berks County 4-H Youth Group; and a member of the Ontelaunee Grange.

Surviving in addition to his fiancee Carol is his daughter: Tammy L. (Younker), wife of Patrick S. Evett, Blandon; two granddaughters: Amanda L. Prokop and Holli A. Prokop; Carol's two sons: Jeffrey C. Schaeffer, his wife Debbie, and children: Shanelle and Machelle; and Richard E. Schaeffer, his wife Mary, and children: Chase and Kolt; and Carol's three great-grandchildren: Cole, Sophie and Hailee. Leroy is also survived by two brothers: Martin Younker, and his wife Darlene, Fleetwood; and Marvin Younker, and his wife Sandy, Mohrsville; two sisters: Shirley (Younker), widow of Donald Luckenbill, Mohrsville; and Arletta (Younker), wife of Richard Leahy, Reading; five nephews and eight nieces. LeRoy will be missed by his faithful companion: Bandit. He was predeceased by one sister: Beatrice (Younker) Strause.

Services will be on Thursday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Thursday 10:00 to 11:00 am. For Wednesday evening's Viewing, guests are encouraged to use the parking lot entrance in the rear of the funeral home.
