Leroy M. Prutzman, 88, of Hamburg, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. His wife, Kathryn E. (Wesner) Prutzman, died February 12, 1969.
Born in Fogelsville, he was the son of the late Clayton S. and Mazie B. (Miller) Prutzman. He worked for thirty-five years as a maintenance custodian for the Reading Hospital until retiring in 1985. Leroy was a member of New Jerusalem Zion's United Church of Christ, Krumsville.
Leroy loved baseball and the Phillies and enjoyed watching movies.
Surviving are three sons: Carl R. Prutzman, widower of Rose, Hamburg; John E. Prutzman, Hamburg; and William H. Prutzman, Mohrsville; and five daughters: Barbara A. (Prutzman), widow of Mark E. Stewart, Tilden Twp.; Linda M. (Prutzman) Madeira, Hamburg; Nancy A. (Prutzman), wife of William Smith, Mertztown; Joanne M. Prutzman, companion of David K. Berger, Tilden Twp.; and Ruth A. (Prutzman) Rosado, Hamburg. There are also eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one sister: Lena (Prutzman) Read, Shoemakersville. Leroy was predeceased by two sons: Melvin L. Prutzman, died in 1947; and Leroy C. Prutzman, husband of Linda, died May 12, 2000; a granddaughter: Bonnie J. Prutzman, died March 16, 2000; and three sisters: Eva (Prutzman) Stump; Iva (Prutzman) Eisenhart; and Anna (Prutzman) Snyder.
Services will be on Wednesday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp.
