Leon F. Long, 75, formerly of Hamburg, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Berks Heim, Bern Twp., where he resided for twenty years.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Albert and Carrie (Engle) Long. He worked for eight years for Royal International, King of Prussia, last working January 31, 1990. He was a former member of Wagner-Good Post #216 V.F.W., Hamburg.
Surviving are three daughters: Cynthia A. (Long), wife of Allen B. Starr, Centre Twp.; Jennifer L. (Long), wife of Jerome A. Blackwell, Salem Virginia; and Stacey L. (Long), wife of Brian K. Short, Womelsdorf; seven grandchildren: Ashley and Christopher Blackwell; Codie Bender; Ian and Brendon Short; Jeffrey Starr; and Stacy Starr Stofflet; and three great-grandchildren. Leon is also survived by two brothers: Raymond Long, Hamburg; and Ronald Long, Centre Twp.; and three sisters: Betty Strunk, Robesonia; Christine Long; and Bonnie Long; both of Reading. He was predeceased by a brother: Albert Long, Jr.; and a sister: Dorothy Hoffert.
Services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
