Lee F. Barto, 81, of Perry Twp., passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. He was the husband of Mary A. (Sunday) Barto. They were married April 17, 1971 and celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Born in Breinigsville, he was the son of the late Forest D. and Arlene S. (Henninger) Barto. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. He worked at Berks Products for 10 years, then worked at Martin's Lumber, and finally worked at Eberly Lumber, Mechanicsburg for 8 years before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, going to sales, and antiques. He kept a meticulous lawn, and would dig out each individual dandelion. He was a fan of NASCAR and the Phillies. He always loved to play cards at church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Tina L. (Haas) Billig, widow of Stephen Billig, Kutztown, Gerald E. Haas, husband of Maria V. (Penaloza), Germantown, MD, Wanda M. (Haas) Young, Louisville, KY, and Darren L. Barto, husband of Karen M. (Paul), Collegeville; eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Sierra, Katrina, Reisen, Michael, Paolo, and Althea; and four great-grandsons. He is also survived by his siblings: Doris A. (Barto) Fink, wife of Walter, Fleetwood, and Larry G. Barto, husband of Nancy, Macungie. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jessica.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
