Larry G. Reber, 70, of Leesport, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of Mildred A. (Fisher) Reber. They were married on July 29, 1961 and celebrated 52 years of marriage. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John J. and Frances J. (Ludwig) Reber. Larry was a 1961 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1981 graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute, Allentown. He worked for nineteen years for Lucent Technologies, until February 2000. Larry formerly owned and operated Larry Reber's Outdoor Equipment. He was a licensed water treatment plant operator for the Borough of Leesport; and was chairman of the Leesport Planning Commission for twenty-eight years. Larry was a Pennsylvania licensed automobile mechanic. He was also a school bus driver for the Schuylkill Valley School System. Larry was a member of Hamburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Shoemakersville. Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Dean G. Reber, husband of Cheryl (Hansen) Reber, Glen Mills, PA; one daughter: Laurie J. (Reber), wife of Scott Trievel, Mohrsville; and three grandchildren: Alec and Carissa Trievel; and Cole Reber. Larry is also survived by three brothers: Raymond Reber, Blandon; John J. Reber, Jr., Driftwood, PA; and Glenn Reber, Temple. Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
