Larry E. Phillips, 66, of Centre Twp., passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Cathy Mae (Spatz) Phillips. They were married October 2, 1975 and celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Paul S. and Grace E. (Stoudt) Phillips. He graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 1974. Larry was a faithful member of Schuylkill Valley Bible Chapel. He devoted his life to farming the Phillips family farm as part of the 4th generation of Phillips' farmers. He was a member of the Centerport Fire Company, and was a former member of the Centre Township Land Preservation Board. He always loved woodworking, especially making furniture for his children; hunting, and growing sweet corn. Larry was a man of few words, but was extremely generous, had a big heart, and was a reliable man who was always willing to help family and friends. Throughout the years, Larry needed to be a caretaker for different family members, and he was always able to fill that role well. He had a strong, and growing relationship with Jesus.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five daughters: Tracey L. (Phillips) Diehl, wife of Timothy A., Wyomissing, Beth M. Phillips, wife of Frank A. Pippel, Moorestown, NJ, Lisa A. (Phillips) Zerbe, wife of Kyle A., Womelsdorf, Kelly I. (Phillips) Smith, wife of William C., Centre Twp., and Renee E. Phillips, West Reading; 15 grandchildren: Joshua, Grace, Ellen, Lael, Major, Josiah, Julian, Jace, Jeah, Maya, Austin, Gavin, Hannah, Emma, and Carter. He is also survived by his beloved brothers: David L. Phillips, husband of Robin (Spatz), Centre Twp., and Luke C. Phillips, husband of Patricia (Smith), Windsor Twp.; a sister: Diane (Phillips) Schwoyer, wife of Dennis, Hamburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter: Rachel Leah Phillips, died March 27, 1992; and a brother: James P. Phillips.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022 and will begin promptly at 9:30 am in Schuylkill Valley Bible Chapel, 693 Irish Creek Road, Mohrsville, PA 19541.

Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp.

There will not be a viewing or visitation.
