MGYSGT Larry K. Carter, USMC RET., 73, of Bern Twp., died Monday, October 29, 2012 in ManorCare, Laureldale. He was the husband of JoAnn (Stoop) Carter. They were married on October 29, 1992 and celebrated twenty years of marriage.
Born in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Carter and Lois Bluebaum. Larry was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Career Serviceman in the Marine Corps for twenty-six years, stationed in South Carolina, North Carolina, California, and Hawaii. After his retirement, he continued to work for the Marine Corps in inventory control. Larry was a life member of the V.F.W. in California. He was an avid fisherman and sold fishing gear at the Leesport Market.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Tony Carter; three daughters: Watonda Dean; Rhonda Osburn, and Luann Hill, all of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter.
