Lance H. Laity, 66, of Leesport, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 as a result of a work-related accident in Maidencreek Twp. He was the husband of Gayle A. (Gianpaolo) Laity. They were married on January 25, 1969 and celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John W. and Fern B. (Dippery) Laity. He graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 1967.

Lance was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Laureldale.

Lance worked as an Eddy Current Operator at Carpenter Technology for 28 years, retiring in 2002. He then worked for F.T. Silfies for 11 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed painting, golfing, gardening, hunting, fishing, and taking care of his fish pond. Lance especially loved his dog, Daisy.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Jeffrey A. Laity, Leesport; Gary R., husband of Amber L. (Rambo) Laity, West Reading; and Kenneth J., husband of Amanda L. (Gibson) Laity, Shillington; four grandchildren: Michael R. Laity, Sarah K. Laity, Payton J. Laity, and Tara L. Gouldey. He is also survived by two brothers: John H., husband of Sally Laity, Temple, and Larry A. Laity, Temple.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 8:00 P.M. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
