Kirk K. Katerman, 52, of Perry Twp., passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Laurie (Leininger) Katerman. They were together for thirty-eight years since the age of fifteen. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Donald C. Katerman and Patricia A. (Miller) Barbera. Kirk attended Vo-Tech and was a certified welder. He worked as a welder for Dana Parish, Reading Tube, and Consolidated Containers. Kirk enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motocycle. Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Nathan D. Katerman, and his wife Shannon, New Ringgold; one daughter: Kia L. Katerman, Reading; and five grandchildren: Robert A. Baker, Katelyn C. Katerman, Dylan D. Katerman, Ethan Torres and Analise Torres. Kirk is also survived by one sister: Melody Breidenstein, Bernville; and his step-father: Phillip Barbera, Temple. He was predeceased by a brother: Gary Waid. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday 10:30 to 11:00 am.
