Kermit C. Frantz, 82, of Hamburg, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at 5:37 am in the Reading Hospital. He was taken there from the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., where he was for seven months. He was the husband of Jean A. (Adams) Frantz. They were married on July 9, 1947 and celebrated 64 years of marriage. Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Titus W. and Kathryn (Machmer) Frantz. He was a 1947 graduate of Hamburg High School. Kermit worked for twenty-three years as a law enforcement officer for the Muhlenberg Township Police Department. He retired as a detective in 1989. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Kermit was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid hunter. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Kevin C., husband of Jennifer Frantz, Oley; and Kris A., husband of Sue Frantz, Hamburg; and three grandchildren: Kimberlee Frantz; and James and Megan Frantz.
