Steinhauer
February 16, 1940 – May 10, 2024
Kent I. Steinhauer, 84, of Tilden Twp., passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 in his residence. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Kirkhoff) Steinhauer. They were married September 19, 1959 and celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Born in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Elwood Steinhauer, Jr., and Elsie (Wade) Steinhauer. He graduated from Penn Bernville High School in 1959. Kent worked as a farmer at different times for his entire life; he also worked for 40 years as a self-employed carpenter until retirement. He was a member of Bern Reformed United Church of Christ. He was a charter member of Appalachian Snowmobile Club and was an avid snowmobiler. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and traveling. He was also a 60 year member of Ontelaunee Grange; and always liked to watch western movies.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son: Daniel S. Steinhauer, husband of Donna (Brown), Bethel; three daughters: Sally S. (Steinhauer) Stamm, wife of Kenneth E., Stamm, Jr., Palmetto, FL, Lisa D. (Steinhauer) Eisenhower, wife of Kevin L., Mohrsville, and Sheri L. (Steinhauer) Dulemba, wife of Robert S., Monroe Twp., NJ; six grandchildren: Todd Eisenhower, Stacy (Eisenhower) Weller, Adam Steinhauer, Jessica Steinhauer, Eric Stamm, and Tyler Dulemba; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother: Sidney Steinhauer, Marble, NC. Kent was predeceased by a granddaughter: Nicole Stamm; and a sister: Merra Lee (Steinhauer) McClain.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 19, 2024 beginning promptly at 1:00 pm in Bern Reformed United Church of Christ, 3196 Bernville Road, Leesport, PA 19533. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Bern UCC Memorial Fund, at the above address.
