Kenneth P. Himmelberger, 75, of Perry Twp., died Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where he was a patient since April 18. He was the husband of JoAnn (Steffy) Himmelberger. They were married for 52 years.
Born in Windsor Twp., he was the son of the late Oliver and Annie (Haas) Himmelberger. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Kenneth worked in the family business, Windsor Distributing, in Windsor Twp., for many years. He then worked as a truck driver for Alpha Packaging, Centre Twp., until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling to his second home in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and was active in the racing community. Kenneth was a member of the Perry Game Association, Leesport Fire Company, Shartlesville Fire Company and Loyal Order of Moose #523, Hamburg. He was a life member of Shoemakersville Fire Company, life member of Schuylkill County Motorcycle Club, and a life member of American Motorcycle Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son: Kevin P. Himmelberger, at home; and two daughters: Karen L. Himmelberger, companion of Daniel Weber, Bern Twp.; and Kendra L. (Himmelberger), wife of Kevin McCurdy, Tilden Twp. There are also two grandchildren: Philip D. Weber and Taylor N. McCurdy; and one sister: Arlene (Himmelberger) Snyder, Windsor Twp. He was predeceased by two sisters: Grace (Himmelberger) Schaeffer and Virginia Himmelberger.
