June D. Gillner, 83, formerly of Lenhartsville, died Monday, March 17, 2014 in the Topton Lutheran Home where she resided since August 29, 2008. She was the wife of Richard M. Gillner, who died December 21, 1991.
Born in Topton, she was the daughter of the late Walter Althouse and Rachel O. (Knauss) Althouse Dalton.
June was a 1948 graduate of Kutztown High School. She worked as a sewing machine operator for Raubenhold and Company, Port Clinton, retiring in 1980. June was a member of Frieden's Church, and its Women's Guild, Lenhartsville. As a resident of the Topton Lutheran Home, June was very loved and an active part of the Lutheran Home community.
June is survived by one son: Dennis G. Gillner, and his companion: Donna Herman, Rockland Twp.; one daughter: Sherry A. (Gillner) Reppert, Maidencreek Twp.; four granddaughters: Amy (Hausman), wife of Shawn Koller; Tara Hausman, fiancé of Brant Neff; Alyssa (Gillner), wife of Derek Damiani; and Monica Bojt; three great-grandchildren: Drew and Kylee Koller; and Liliana Damiani; and one sister: Betty I. (Althouse), widow of Claude Fairchild, Mertztown. She was predeceased by her step-father: Joseph P. Dalton; and four brothers: Ralph, Robert, Niles, and Ray Althouse.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Auditorium of the Topton Lutheran Home on Monday at 11:00 am. A visitation with the family will be held in the Auditorium on Monday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
