Yoder
March 5, 1955 – July 6, 2024
Julie A. Yoder, 69, of Centre Twp., passed away in her residence on Saturday, July 6, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Samuel T. Yoder. They were married on April 27, 1974 and celebrated fifty years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paul B. and Betty J. (Fry) Levan. Julie graduated from Hamburg Area High School and received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in elementary education from Kutztown University. She taught the fourth grade for the Governor Mifflin School District for twenty-six years. Julie then taught for four years at The King's Academy, Mohrsville. After retirement, Julie taught with Science Explorers, Mohnton. She absolutely loved to teach. She was also a very talented seamstress, making her own wedding dress and doing alterations for people.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her three sons: Nathan P. Yoder, husband of Krista, Mertztown; Erik S. Yoder, husband of Deborah, Stony Brook, New York; and Charles D. "Chuck" Yoder, Bloomsburg; and six grandchildren: Aubree, Mindy, Ethan, Wesley, Sean, and Gabriel. Julie is also survived by her siblings: Nancy Light, wife of Harry, Indiana; Teresa Billig, Hamburg; Paul "Teddy" Levan, husband of Shirley, Hamburg; and Patricia Cathers, wife of Brian, Hamburg; several nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law: Nancy K. Yoder, Mifflin County.
A visitation with the family will be on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at Christ Evangelical Free Church, 8477 Route 183, Bethel, PA 19507. The memorial service for Julie will begin promptly at 12:00 noon. Memorial contributions may be sent to CEFC for Adventure Kids, at the above address.
