Julia S. Bickel, 85, of Windsor Twp., passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in her residence. She was the wife of Carl J. Bickel, who died March 20, 2017.

Born in Upper Bern Twp., she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Strause) Strause. Julia was a graduate of Hamburg High School and McCann School of Business. She was a secretary at Hamburg Knitting Mill for twenty-seven years; and then worked for twelve years for Cinderella Knitting Mill, Leesport, until her retirement. Julia was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her lawn, watching the birds in her yard, NASCAR, the Phillies and bingo. Julia supported many charities. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to Wyoming to visit her daughter. Julia was very proud of her grandchildren and loved them very much.

Julia is survived by her children: Susan E. (Bickel), wife of Michael J. Fick, Cody, Wyoming; and Jeffrey C. Bickel, husband of Trisha L. (Geist) Bickel, Windsor Twp.; and three grandchildren: Bradley, Blake and Lacey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Julia was predeceased by her siblings: Harold Strause, Stanley Strause; Josephine Metz and Lucille Werley.

Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
