Joyce E. Levan, 92, of Maxatawny Twp., passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Homer C. Levan, died December 21, 2000.
Born in Maxatawny Twp., she was the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Evelyn E. (Smith) Hummel. She was a member of Frieden's Church, Lenhartsville. Joyce worked as a sewing machine operator for area knitting mills in Leesport and Hamburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family; and always took care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening; and spent many years working for her parent's snack bar, Hummel's in Lenhartsville.
She is survived by her children: Barry L., husband of Robin (Balthaser) Levan, Greenwich Twp., Barbara J. (Levan), wife of Scott Snyder, Greenwich Twp., Debra E. (Levan), wife of Michael Turner, Ruscombmanor Twp., and Michael D. Levan, husband of Kris (Krause), Upper Macungie Twp. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Olivia (Snyder) Deysher, wife of Paul, Aaron Snyder, husband of Brittaney, Kellsey (Turner) Guell, wife of Benjamin, Kirkland Turner, companion of Kayla Readinger, Kyren Turner, Tyler Krause, husband of Jennifer, and Brandon Krause; and six great-grandchildren: Emmett and Sloane Deysher, Ellie and Aubree Snyder, and Kyson and Joelle Krause; and a sister: Shirlene (Hummel) Loeb, Lenhartsville. She was predeceased by a son: Daryl H. Levan, died March 14, 2020; a grandson: Zachary Snyder; and two brothers: Clark and Lee Hummel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will follow in Frieden's Cemetery, Lenhartsville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Frieden's Church, 1512 Old 22, Lenhartsville, PA 19534.
