Joseph C. Zebertavage, Jr., 63, of Bern Twp., passed away in his residence on Friday, December 5, 2014. He was the husband of Janice E. (Stull) Zebertavage. They were married on September 13, 1975 and celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Joseph C., Sr., and Mary (Pulaski) Zebertavage, Reading. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School; and received an associate's degree in engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Joseph worked for 44 ½ years in combustion maintenance at Carpenter Technology, Reading and retired January 2014.
Joe was profoundly dedicated to family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of many local clubs and organizations. A skilled handyman, Joe always offered a hand to anyone who needed help. He was an influential partner of Zeb Machine Company, which was founded by his father, Joe Sr., forty-eight years ago.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are two sons: Eric J. Zebertavage and Devin S. Zebertavage, both of Reading; one daughter: Meghan E. Zebertavage, Bern Twp.; two brothers: David Zebertavage, Bernville; and Brian Zebertavage, Mohrsville; and one sister: Joan Anderton, Leesport. Joseph was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Zebertavage.
A visitation with the family will be held at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, Tuesday beginning at 6:00pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 8:00pm.
