Joe bowled in senior leagues at Bowl-O-Rama in Reading and later at Hiester Lanes in Reading. He could fix almost anything especially if it had a motor in it. Joe built structures such as a 2-story truck garage, a carport, a playhouse with electricity and a larger scale Victorian-style playhouse.
