Joseph P. Henne, 91, formerly of Mohrsville, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Stone Ridge Retirement Village, Myerstown, where he resided since March 2010. He was the husband of Evelyn K. (Yenser) Henne, who died February 10, 2011.

Born in Upper Bern Twp., he was the son of the late Daniel A. and Clara A. (Bond) Henne. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Joseph worked as a machine operator for Prestolite Battery in Temple from 1956 until retiring in 1981. He was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. Joseph enjoyed caning chairs. He also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and spending time with his granchildren.
Surviving is one son: Larry J., husband of Linda R. (Waldviesser) Henne, Centre Twp.; three daughters: Jean M. (Henne), wife of George Weikel, Cumru Twp.; Janice D. (Henne), wife of Barry L. Speicher, Wernersville; and Ruth E. (Henne), wife of Paul L. Brown, Blandon; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; son-in-law: Barry N. Walls, Bern Twp.; and one brother: Wert Henne, Fleetwood. Joseph was predeceased by his wife Evelyn; a daughter: Shirley I. (Henne) Walls, died July 2002; a great-grandchild; a brother: William Henne; and a sister: Mabel (Henne) Tobias.

Services will be on Monday at 11:00 am from Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Monday 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Salem (Belleman's) Church Endowment Fund, 3540 Belleman's Church Road, Mohrsville, PA 19541.
