IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jonah M.
Horst
December 28, 1994 – November 20, 2025
Jonah Michael Horst, 30, of Leesport, passed away on Wednesday, November 19th, after a long and courageous battle with addiction, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and deep connection to those he held dear.
Born in Reading on December 28th, 1994, Jonah was the beloved son of Peter and Gina, and a fiercely loyal brother to Noah, Jacob, Elijah, and Joshua. He was a loving father to his two daughters, Arya and Thea, whom he adored beyond words.
Jonah was a gifted artist and musician who expressed himself through painting, drawing, writing, rapping, and playing the ukulele. He was a talented carpenter and craftsman, capable of mastering any skill he set his mind to, with a brilliance that showed in all his work.
A passionate outdoorsman, Jonah was a skilled hunter and fly fisherman who deeply believed in conservation and preserving the native history of his homeland in Berks County. He found joy in collecting artifacts, coins, and crystals, with a reverence for the stories carried by the land. Whether tending his late grandfather's garden or exploring rivers and streams, Jonah found peace in nature and purpose in honoring the past.
He carried a deep spiritual awareness throughout his life, often contemplating God and the mysteries of existence. Even through hardship, Jonah remained sensitive to the presence of the Holy Spirit, which gently guided his heart and gave light to his path.
He cherished holidays and family time with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, including his stepmother Heather, stepfather Jeff, his stepbrothers Zach, Ajay, and Zane, and his stepsister Sammi. He was a caring uncle to his nephew Eli and his niece Sophie, and shared a special bond with Lillie, his daughter's older sister, whom he loved very deeply.
Jonah had a rare and selfless way of lifting up those around him. He was a fierce protector who stood by the people he loved, always willing to fight for them. The bonds he formed with his family and friends were unbreakable and will endure for the rest of our lives.
Though Jonah faced many challenges, they never defined him. His heart, humor, strength, and spirit left a mark on everyone he met. He was loved deeply and will be missed beyond measure, for the depths of love he gave us, so too were immeasurable.
