John D. Zimmerman, Jr., 73, longtime resident of Strausstown, PA, passed away at Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., Monday, December 28, 2020 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of the late John D. Zimmerman, Sr. and Frances O. (O'Connell) Zimmerman. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Denver, CO. John served in the United States Army, having been stationed in Korea. John worked at Sickafus Sheepskins, Strausstown in the office for about 30 years, retiring in 2016. John will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and wit, love of cooking and gardening, looking at the lake from his deck and going for rides on his gator., and his deep affection for family and friends. He is survived by his sister: Joy (Zimmerman), wife of Jim Lewis; two nieces: Alexandra Hoppe, and Adrienne Cutilletta; a son, John Pruden, two grandsons and several cousins and beloved friends. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will take place in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
