John W. Schlappich, 91, of Centre Twp., passed away in his residence on Thursday, April 16, 2026. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Miller) Schlappich, who died November 14, 1994.

Born in Upper Bern Twp., he was the son of John D. and Kathryn (Younker) Schlappich. John was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a welder at Dana Corporation. John a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp.. He was a life member of Loyal Order of Moose #523, Hamburg; and a member of the Shartlesville and Mt. Pleasant Fire Companies. John enjoyed traveling, going on hunting trips and the cabin with friends.

John is survived by his sons: Keith A. Schlappich, Tilden Twp.; Kevin L. Schlappich, husband of Sandy, Shartlesville; Kirk J. Schlappich, husband of Alana, Eloy, Arizona; and Kirby T. Schlappich, Temple; three grandchildren: Jesse, Kayla and Luke; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister: Faye Stoudt, wife of Luther, Muncy, PA.

A graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 10:00 am. Anyone attending can meet at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport at 8:45 am for the procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Salem (Belleman's) Church, 3540 Belleman's Church Road, Mohrsville, PA 19541, in memory of John W. Schlappich.
