John E. King, 74, of Tilden Twp., died Monday, February 18, 2013 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Kay (Mathias) King. Born in Bern Twp., he was the son of the late John R. and Margaret E. (Engle) King. John worked at the Hamburg Broom Works; the Reading Shoe Factory; a hat factory in Adamstown; and the Berks Heim. John is survived by two brothers: George H. King, and his wife Shirley, Tilden Twp.; and Milton J. King, and his wife Sandy, Perry Twp.; and three sisters: Barbara A. (King), wife of Larry Snyder; and Sandra G. (King), widow of Larry Sides, both of Lehigh Acres, Florida; and Mary L. (King), wife of Thomas Sarge, Columbus, Ohio. He was predeceased by a step-son: Steven Haas; a step-daughter: Linda Haggerty; and a brother: Curtis W. King. Services will be on Saturday at 5:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Saturday 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
