John H. Batteaux, 96, of Upper Tulpehocken Twp., died Saturday, June 16, 2012 in his residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth F. (Sterner) Batteaux, who died March 20, 2003.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John H. and Bertha F. (Graloff) Batteaux. He was a 1932 graduate of Roxborough High School. John worked for many years as a mechanical engineer for Philco Ford, Philadelphia, until retiring in 1977. John was a craftsman, artist, and good story teller. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting. Most importantly, John was a good Dad.
John is survived by two daughters: Betty J. (Batteaux), wife of Thomas Coyle, Mountville; and Bonnie J. (Batteaux), wife of Thomas O'Connell, Doylestown; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be on Saturday, June 23, at 11:00 am in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be private. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Saturday 9:30 to 11:00 am.
