Heaven gained an Angel while the Earth lost a great man.

Jody Munch of Auburn, PA passed away on August 6, 2026 at St. Luke's Hospital Bethlehem. He was the husband of Patti Hutchinson Munch.

Jody was born in 1961 in Lima, Ohio. He was the son of Karen Munch and the late Larry Munch. He was also the brother of the late James Munch.

Jody was a graduate of Boyertown High School class of 1980 where he excelled in football and wrestling. Wrestling remained in his blood as he and Patti traveled often to see Penn State wrestling. If they weren't watching wrestling, Jody and Patti enjoyed motorcycle rides, babysitting grandchildren and taking golf cart rides around the lake.

He was employed at Axcess Mechanical Inc. for 14 years before retiring in 2025. He was a phenomenal welder and then became an Industrial Engineer. His coworkers were like family. You would catch him enjoying picnics, baseball games and even rodeos with them. His artistic flare did not go unnoticed. He once created a honeybee hive out of chain!

When you think of your typical country man, Jody was that plus so much more. With a cowboy hat in hand, he was nicknamed "Mountain Man" for his love of the breathtaking scenic views of the country and beyond. Jody was always ready to jump on his motorcycle for a ride. It was the perfect way to clear his mind and live life to the fullest. If he wasn't on his motorcycle, you could catch him riding on a horse. He was a true Cowboy. He always appreciated his time spent here on Earth and made sure to take in each second of every day. Jody was the kind of guy who could make friends with anyone. All with a smile, a funny one-liner joke and a beautiful bottle of Bourbon to share. He was direct and fearless and would do anything for the people he loved without hesitation.

Jody not only rode motorcycles for fun for decades, but he was also a member of Star Touring and Riding. That's where he made many friends across the country who shared his love for the ride. You could always catch Jody reconnecting with old friends at "Tip of the Mitt" in Michigan where they would talk about past and future bike trips. Jody was loved by many and made sure they all knew. He wore many "hats" in his lifetime: motorcycle, welding, cowboy, and even baseball. However, the biggest hat he wore, was his hat of love that everyone felt but didn't see.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are his son Michael and wife Crystle, also his daughter Callie -- all from Pittsburgh. He also gained more family members who loved him including stepchildren Derek Hutchinson and fiancée Jaclyn Vrabel from Emmaus, Kyle Hutchinson and wife Lisa from Blandon, and Brandi Hutchinson from Middletown, CT. His favorite people were his grandchildren Tyler Munch, Evelyn Munch, Caleb Hutchinson and Harper Hutchinson. He will also be greatly missed by his fur babies Cooper, Maximus, Lexi and Mia.
