Jeffrey A. Seidel, 58, of Bern Twp., lost his four-year battle with ALS on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in his residence.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late James W. and Mamie A. (Swartley) Seidel. He was a 1974 graduate of Reading High School. Jeff first worked for Conrail from 1977-1990. In 1983, he helped Andy Muller with the start-up of the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad; and worked there from 1990 until December 30, 2010. Jeff was a member of Telephone Collectors International. He enjoyed trains, telephones and going out to eat with friends.
Jeff is survived by his brother: Scott A. Seidel, and his wife Cay E. Seidel, Temple; one nephew: Scott A. Seidel, Jr., and his companion Lyndsey Seelig; and her daughter Kennedy Seelig.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11:00 from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, August 30, from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
