Jean B. Swoyer, 82, of Mohrsville, died Friday, June 15, 2012 in her residence. She was the wife of Stewart L. Swoyer, who died May 2, 1997.
Born in Mohrsville, she was the daughter of the late Roy F. and Mabel A. (Boyne) James. Jean was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School. She was a member of Central Berks Fire Company and beneficial association; and the Shoemakersville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and beneficial association. She was a former Den mother of Cub Pack #154. Jean was a great hand tooled leather worker. She enjoyed watching soap operas.
Jean is survived by three sons: Jamie L., husband of Patricia J. (Terpstra) Swoyer, Mohrsville; Kevin T. Swoyer, husband of Kaylynn Smith, Hamburg; and H. Tommy Leibensperger, husband of Kim R. (Rentschler) Leibensperger, Auburn; two daughters: Tina Marie A. (Swoyer), wife of Lee Malek, Mohrsville; and Toni M. (Swoyer), wife of David Hamerly, Mohrsville; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by a son: Stewart R. Swoyer, died August 16, 1990.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
