Jay S. Knarr, 60, of Centre Twp., passed away in his residence on Sunday, June 28, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Lois D. (Fisher) Knarr. Born in Reading, he was the son of Dorothy (Frantz) Knarr; and the late Karl Knarr. Jay was a graduate of Reading High School. He worked at East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons; and also worked for the Reading Phillies. Jay was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is a son: Matthew T. Knarr, Bernville; and step-son: William V. Fisher. Also surviving is his brother: Michael Knarr, and his wife Suzanne, Mohrsville; his sister: June (Knarr), wife of Kevin Lerch, Wyomissing; and his nieces and nephews. Jay loved his dogs and cats and will be sadly missed by them. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport.
