Janet R. Sterba, "Jan", 74, of Hamburg, passed away on November 13, 2017 in her residence. She was the companion of Bill A. Rhoades, with whom she resided. Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Jewel and Ellen (Fore) Riley. As a small child, she and her family moved to Oklahoma, where she always considered Fox, Oklahoma her home. After high school graduation, she received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Lincoln University. Jan worked as a drug and alcohol therapist. She enjoyed gardening, movies and art and was very artistic herself. Jan was a fun-loving person who went skydiving, rode motorcycles and had her pilot's license. Jan is survived by her children: Robert R. Sterba, Arlington, Texas; and Anastasia M. Sterba, Lancaster; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her friend and caregiver: Joan L. Noll, Hamburg; and her long-time friend: Paulette Siene, Harrisburg. Jan was predeceased by a sister: Bobby Lou Eby.
