Janet H. Masters, 80, of Shoemakersville, died Friday, June 7, 2013 in St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Edward Masters.
Born in Fountain Hill, Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Elva (Ebbert) Hittinger. She was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School. Janet worked for twenty-five years as a secretary/clerk for Perry Elementary School of the Hamburg Area School District, until retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville, where she was a Sunday School teacher and member and secretary of the Women of the ELCA for three years. Janet was a member of the Hamburg School District's Retirees Association; and secretary of the Hamburg/Schuylkill Valley Retirees. Janet was also a member of the Shoemakersville Bicentennial Committee.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters: Donna L. Adams, Fredericksburg, Virginia; Diana L. Anthony, Shoemakersville; and Dawn L. Hughes, West Lawn; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother: Theodore Hittinger, Jr., Bethlehem.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
