Janet A. Klee, 88, of Wernersville, formerly of Douglassville and Riverview Park (Muhlenberg Township), passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Phoebe Berks Village Gardens, Wernersville.

Born on February 26, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Paul W. Kreider and A. Adele (Fister) Kreider. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Paul L. Klee, Jan is survived by her beloved daughter, Dr. Kate Spillane, wife of John P. Spillane, and her two precious grandchildren, Lauren B. Spillane and Evan P. Spillane. Jan was the best, most loving and supportive mom, ALWAYS there when Kate needed her. As a proud grandmother, Jan spent many hours supporting Lauren at swim meets and Evan at soccer tournaments. She was so grateful to have had the opportunity to watch them grow into amazing adults. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law: Doris L. and John N. Leibensperger.

Graduating from Perry High School in Shoemakersville in 1956, Jan represented her class as Salutatorian, and was an active member of the basketball team and the cheerleading squad throughout high school. In 1959, Jan graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. After working several years in the delivery room at The Reading Hospital, first as a nurse and later as head nurse, Jan was offered a position in an OB/GYN office, where she worked for 30 years before retiring. During that time, Jan returned to graduate school and in 1985, graduated with her OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner license and certification. Jan loved going to work each and every day and never really considered her job as "work" because of her love of obstetrics and the many wonderful people she met along the way. After her retirement in 2000, Jan worked for 12 years as a substitute school nurse, where the students became the new recipients of her special care and kindness.

Janet loved to travel and, with Paul, made many wonderful memories, especially on numerous cruises to far-away places. She found her "heaven on earth" on the island of Moorea in the South Pacific. Jan loved to bake and passed this love on to her daugher Kate. Jan's love of baking was greatly appreciated by family, friends and neighbors who enjoyed her delicious cookies, pies, cakes and especially her famous pumpkin bread. Jan will always be remembered for her love, kindness and dedication to her family and for the tender loving care she showered upon her patients, students and anyone else she happened to meet who needed it.

Earlier this year, Jan became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution along with her daughter and granddaughter. Jan was also a member of St. John's (Hains) UCC, Wernersville. Continuing to give as she did throughout her life, Jan selflessly donated her body to the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University through the "Humanity Gifts Registry of Pennsylvania", where it will be used for the advancement of medical education and research.
