Jane C. Birney, 89, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Manor Care, West Reading. She was the wife of Robert W. Birney, who died May 6, 1985. Born in Cedarville, Montgomery Co., she was the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Thelma (Kochel) Weiser. She worked in the meat department of Acme Market, West Reading, for thirty years. Jane is survived by one daughter: Patricia A. (Birney), wife of David A. Weidenhammer, Sr., Maidencreek Twp.; two grandsons: Robert Weidenhammer, Sr.; and David Weidenhammer, Jr.; one great-grandson: Robert Weidenhammer, Jr.; and two sisters: Joan, wife of John Hiltebeitel and Sally, wife of Marshall Lawhorne. She was predeceased by two brothers: Ralph D. Weiser and George Weiser. Burial will be private in Limerick Garden of Memories. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport is in charge of arrangements.
