Jane R. Becker, 84, of Tilden Twp., passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in St. Luke's Hospital- Bethlehem. She was the wife of Herbert H. Becker. They were married February 19, 1966, and celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Glenn H. and Amanda S. (Killian) Timmins. She graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1951; and West Chester University in 1963. She continued her education at Kutztown University, where she received a Master's Degree; and then received a PhD from Lehigh University in 1989. Jane was a member of Saved by Grace Bible Church, Pottsville. She had a long 30 year career in education; teaching at Schuylkill Valley High School, and Kutztown University as a professor. She always enjoyed working with students and assisting them in their education. She had an affinity for the beach, especially Rehoboth Beach, and the beaches of Florida; she also enjoyed reading. But most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Laura J. (Becker) Hoffman, wife of James S., South Manheim Twp., Schuylkill County; and Alaina D. (Becker) Weidner, wife of Dennis P., Bern Twp. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Ben Hoffman, husband of Hannah, Jonathan Hoffman, husband of Jewel, Susannah Hoffman, Samuel Hoffman, Levi Hoffman, Timothy Hoffman, Hope Hoffman, Molly (Weidner) Woods, wife of Nathan, Joey Weidner, and Justin Weidner; and her great-grandchildren: Arwen, Emberly, Quill, Lacy, Ginger, Judah, Calvin, and two more on the way. She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter: Brielle.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michael's Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
