James M. Kelchner, Jr., 64, of Hamburg died Saturday, December 23, 2017 in his residence.
"Jim" was a man of few words and material needs. He deeply cherished and respected the love and relationships he shared with his family and friends. He always thought of others needs before his own. As a self-taught master carpenter and craftsman, he had the ability to tackle and accomplish any project or life challenge with perseverance and attention to detail.
After family, friends, and "puttering around in his shop," as he called it, he had a love of nature and preservation of wildlife, and Civil War history.
Even though his physical presence will no longer be with us, he will never go away in the hearts and minds of those fortunate to have known him, he will walk beside us every day.
Jim is survived by a sister, brother, nephews, great nephews, a great niece, cousins, and friends.
