James R. Joyce, 65, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Marge A. (Clark) Joyce. They were married on June 21, 1997 and celebrated 16 years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Jeanne M. (Boland) Joyce. James was a senior operator for Western Electric, AT & T, Lucent Technologies, and Agere Systems, until his retirement. He was a member and past officer of Loyal Order of Moose #523, Hamburg; Hamburg Game Association; Behler-Hein Post #637 American Legion, Hamburg; Wagner-Good Post #216 V.F.W., Hamburg; Shartlesville Fire Company; Strausstown Rod and Gun Club; and Keystone Social Club. James loved to shoot and teach pool and was a member of the American Poolplayers Association (APA). He also enjoyed traveling and especially loved his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son: Jamie Joyce, and his wife Laurie, of Dundalk, Maryland; one daughter: Erin M. (Joyce) Long, and her significant other: Martin Hemsley, Hamburg; one step-son: Paul P. Della Penna, and his significant other: Ann Mintz, Baltimore, Maryland; one step-daughter: Christina K. Della Penna, Hamburg; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Kory, Trevor, Trinity, Matthew, Daniel and Alexiz; and a sister-in-law: Sandy Joyce, Dundalk, Maryland. He was predeceased by a grandson: Jacob I. Fugate; and a brother: Michael Joyce. A Viewing will be held on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:30 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg.
