Irene J. Bennicoff, 87, of Hamburg, died Thursday, September 19, 2013 in the residence of her daughter, Dianne, in Calhoun, Georgia. She was the wife of Charles G. Bennicoff, Sr., died October 7, 2001.
Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Maize Loose. Irene was a homemaker and helped her husband in his upholstery and flooring business in Hamburg. She was a member of Hamburg Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, Tilden Twp. The church was her "second family". Irene's focus was always on her family.
Irene is survived by two sons: Charles G. "Sonny" Bennicoff, Jr., and his wife Amanda, LaGrange, Kentucky; and Gary L. Bennicoff, and his wife Peggy, Nazareth; one daughter: Diane K. (Bennicoff), wife of Tim Epperson, Calhoun, Georgia; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son: Jack H. Bennicoff; three brothers: Harold, Harry, and Ivan "Bud"; and two sisters: Mary and Esther.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 4 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A visitation with the family will be on Friday 10:30 to 11:00 am. Burial will be private in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
