Homer H. Berk, 77, of Yoder Heights, Tilden Twp., died Friday, May 18, 2012 in his residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Bausher) Berk. They were married on July 31, 1954 and celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Born in Windsor Twp., he was the son of the late Mahlon A. Berk and Iva A. (Bailey) Berk. Homer worked as a shipper for forty-five years for Glen Gery Corporation, Shoemakersville, retiring in 1997. He attended Salem United Methodist Church, Shoemakersville. He was a member of Goodwill Fire Company, Hyde Park.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Michael R. Berk, Tilden Twp.; and Bryan K., husband of Dawn (Krause) Berk, Virginville; one daughter: Cynthia A. (Berk), wife of Gregory J. Dissinger, Lenhartsville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister: Linda A. (Berk), wife of Robert Bitting, Leesport; and one step-brother: Mahlon A. Berk, Jr., Tilden Twp. Homer was predeceased by two sons: Gary L. Berk and Jeffrey B. Berk; one grandson: Austin L. Berk; and one sister: Virginia A. (Berk) Koller.
Services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp.
