Obituary

Henry A. Lorah, Sr., 83, of Maidencreek Twp., passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Sakal) Lorah, who died January 18, 2017.

Born in Centre Twp., he was the son of the late Daniel V. and Carrie E. (Rothenberger) Lorah. Henry worked for Windsor Service, Reading, for many years. He was a member of the Hamburg Game Association, Shoemakersville Fire Company, Lincoln Park Fire Company and the Gouglersville Fire Company. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was his grandsons' hunting buddy. Henry would do anything for anyone.

Henry is survived by his children: Steven M. Edwards, husband of Gina, Centre Twp.; Deborah Lee (Edwards) Zimmerman, wife of Jason, Milmont.; Henry A. Lorah, Jr., Berks Co.; and Cindy (Lorah) Hollan, widow of James, Laurel, Marlyland; 17 grandchildren: Tom, husband of Erica; Luke, husband of Assunta; Bianca; Jake; Noah; Skylar; Devon and Taylor; Justin Heinley; Ashley Lorah; Nichole Lorah; Henry A. Lorah, III; Katie Zuber; Kenneth Zuber, Jr.; Kelly Zuber; Tabitha Wagner; Becki Mbure; and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Esther Bixler, Hamburg; Carrie Lorah, Hamburg; and Grace Trabosh, Shoemakersville. Henry was predeceased by two daughters: Kimberly (Edwards) Ammon; Deborah (Lorah) Zuber, wife of Kenneth; three brothers: Harvey (Jack), Charles and John Lorah; and two sisters: Nora Lorah and Gertrude Rothenberger.

Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
