Helen Z. Yerger, 87, formerly of Hamburg, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Pinebrook Personal Care Center, Orwigsburg. She was the wife of Ray C. Yerger, died March 13, 2001. Born in Minersville, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Mary (Sember) Zaharchak. She was an active member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Tilden Twp. Helen was a loving wife, devoted mother and proud grandmother. Helen is survived by one daughter: Marybeth A. (Yerger) Mell, Hamburg; one son: David R. Yerger, Pine Grove; and four grandchildren: Alexandria and Austin Mell and Clarissa and Andrew Yerger. She was predeceased by her son-in-law: Shawn R. Mell, died November 16, 2012; a brother: George Zaharchak; and two sisters: Mary Gontarchak and Ann Maley. Services will be private.
