Helen M. Schappell, 86, of Hamburg, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., where she resided. She was the wife of Stanley A. Schappell, who died January 2010. Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late John E. and Beulah C. (Kreider) Hepner. Helen was a graduate of Perry High School. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Helen was involved in the Hamburg Lions Club with her husband. Helen is survived by a son: Jeffrey L. Schappell, Port Clinton; and a granddaughter: Candace L. (Schappell), wife of Barry Brobst, Center Valley. She was predeceased by two sisters: Betty L. (Hepner) Moyer and Jean V. Hepner. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, followed by a graveside service at St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
