Harry M. Walters, Jr., "Skip", 89, of Tilden Twp., passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 in Laureldale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Doris M. (Riegel) Walters, who died June 26, 2014.

He was the son of the late Harry M., Sr. and Julia M. (Mickey) Walter. Harry was a graduate of Reading High School, where he ran track. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Harry owned and operated J & D Steel Fabricators. He was a life-long steel detailer. He loved to work and did it as long as he was able. Harry was a member of the Shoemakersville-Leesport Rotary Club, A1 Club, Reading Berks Basketball Old-Timers Association, Odd Fellows Leesport Lodge #141, and the Hamburg Game Association. He had been a high school basketball referee.

Harry is survived by two children: Jeffrey T. Walters, husband of Joyce I. (Heffner) Walters, Maidencreek Twp.; and Dana L. Walters, fiance of Mitchell J. Peters, Windsor Twp.; two grandchildren: Matthew Theodore and Leah Rose; and one sister: Norlaine Schaeffer. He was predeceased by a granddaughter: Julia Rose; and a brother: William Walter.
