Obituary

Gurney L. Lasko, 62, of Frackville, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at 10:15 pm in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, where he was a patient since May 18. He was the husband of Connie I. (Guldin) Lasko. They were together for thirty-thee years and married on November 26, 1982. Born in West Reading, he was the son of Evelyn M. (Fisher) Lasko Grim, Tilden Twp.; and the late Gurney N. Lasko. Gurney was a U.S. Merchant Marine veteran. He worked as a delivery man for Coca-Cola, Fleetwood. Gurney loved to garden; enjoyed being with his family; and was proud to be a grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is one son: Kenneth L. Lasko, Hamburg; two grandsons: Brody and Jacob; one sister: Patsy A. (Lasko), wife of Dennis Aiman, Reading; and step-father: Kermit C. Grim. Gurney was predeceased by a sister: Connie A. (Lasko), wife of Darwin Dieter, died May 12, 2011. Services will be on Saturday at 1:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear) with Rev. Paul E. Buzzard officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held Saturday 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Connie I. Lasko, 326 S. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, PA 17931, to help with final expenses.
