Gloria Z. (Turner) Smith, 90, of Bern Twp., passed away in the Reading Hospital on March 16, 2024. She was the loving wife of Marshall L. "Marty" Smith with whom she shared 71 years of marriage. Gloria was born in Perry Township on February 26, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Mary (Daughtry) Turner. Gloria was a 1952 graduate of Perry High School and was employed for 42 years by the Diener Knitting Mill, then Dawson Knitting Mill retiring in 1994 as a Quality Control Supervisor. She was a member and active volunteer of Mohrsville Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed chatting with friends and family, cooking, baking, sewing, and knitting. Gloria also enjoyed bowling and had an all-spare game.

Surviving in addition to her husband is her one daughter: Sheri Y. Smith, wife of Nasr Warour, Wyomissing; and one brother: Berlin A. Turner, Spring Twp. Gloria was predeceased by two brothers: Milton R. Turner and Floyd N. Turner.

Services will be held on April 20, 2024, at Mohrsville Church of the Brethren, 1542 Shoey Road, Mohrsville. A visitation with the family will be held at 11:00 am followed by Memorial Service at noon.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Mohrsville Church of the Brethren or the American Cancer Society.
