Obituary

Gladys L. Leggio, 91, of Upper Bern Twp., passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 in her residence. She was the wife of John J. Leggio, who died November 6, 2008.

Born in West New York, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lilian (Smith) Kennedy. She worked as a school bus driver for forty-two years for various school districts in New Jersey. She was a member of The Bridge Church, Hamburg, where she was a member of the Gate Keepers. Gladys was always very active in the church which she would attend. When she was 64, Gladys taught herself to play the organ so she could play at the West New York Assembly of God, where she previously attended. While there, she was also a member of the Sisters of Phoebe.

Gladys is survived by one daughter: Linda R. (Leggio), wife of Lawrence J. Giancola, Upper Bern Twp., and with whom she resided; one son: John P. Leggio, in Florida; two grandchildren: Kerry Giancola and Christopher Leggio; and two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Logan. She was predeceased by a grandson: Daniel Giancola; one brother: Walter T. Kennedy; and her former daghter-in-law: Nancy Leggio.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2015 at 5:30 pm from The Bridge Church, 3561 Old 22, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will be private in George Washington Cemetery, Paramus, New Nersey. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday 4:00 to 5:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Bridge Church, at the above address.
