Gladys M. Lacina, 92, of Tilden Twp., and formerly of Collingswood, NJ, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, December 7, 2015 in her residence. She was the wife of Mark R. Lacina, Sr., who died on October 7, 2011.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Rhoda B. (Logsdon) MacMillan. Gladys was a graduate of Collingswood High School, NJ. She worked as a cashier in the linen department of Strawbridge and Clothier, in Philadelphia and Voorhees, NJ. Gladys was a member of Salem-Berne United Methodist Church, Tilden Twp. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and an after school Sunday School program. Gladys was a violinist and played in a choir in the New Jersey area. As her children were growing up, she was involved with scouting, both girls and boys. Gladys enjoyed quilting; but she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was always there for her family and was always very loving.
Gladys is survived by two sons: Mark R. Lacina, Jr., Delanco, NJ; and Joseph A. Lacina, and his wife Michele, Sewell, NJ; one daughter: Marilyn J. (Lacina), wife of David H. Gross, Tilden Twp.; nine grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by a brother: Joseph Winston MacMillan.
Services will be held on Monday at 1:30 pm from Salem-Berne United Methodist Church, 292 Salem Church Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in adjoining cemetery, Salem-Berne United Brethren Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church Monday 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to the church at the above address. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
