Obituary
Gladys M. Ernst, 75, of Muhlenberg Twp., died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 4:41 pm in her residence.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Luther M. and Kathryn M. (Ritter) Meck. She was a 1950 graduate of Reading High School. Gladys worked in the office of Villa St. Elizabeth Assisted Living Facility, Reading, for twenty years until her retirement. She was a member of Zion's Church, Perry Twp.
Surviving are four sons: Randall A., husband of Terry (Gallen) Ernst, Mohnton; Barry R. Ernst, Bern Twp.; Kerry L., husband of Susan F. (Furey) Ernst, Ruscombmanor Twp.; and Kevin W., husband of Ericka M. (Thomas) Ernst, Rockland Twp.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Gladys was predeceased by her loving companion, Richard M. Kauffman, died September 15, 2010.
Services will be on Friday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Friday 9:30 to 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
