Gladys J. Boyer, 83, of Fleetwood, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 in the Berks Heim. Born in Shoemakersville, she was the daughter of the late Harman L. and Elsie R. (Leibensperger) Boyer. Gladys was a 1949 graduate of Perry High School in Shoemakersville. She worked for thirty-six years for Diener Knitting Mill, Cinderella Knitting Mill, and last for Dawson Mill, until her retirement in 1993. Gladys was a member of Maidencreek Church in Blandon, where she was a former choir member, chime choir member, and enjoyed giving communion to shut-ins. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company. Gladys is survived by one brother: Harry K. Boyer, Wellsville, NY; one sister: Fern A. (Boyer) Brown, Temple; nieces and nephews; and her friend and caregiver: Shirley E. Eddinger, Blandon. She was predeceased by a half-sister: Oralie Feinour. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Maidencreek Church, 261 Main Street, Blandon, PA 19510. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
