Gerard O. Bonenfant, 82, of Tilden Twp., died Monday, July 21, 2014 in Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Muriel J. (Clancy) Bonenfant. They were married December 6, 1958 and celebrated 55 years of marriage. Born in Suncook, NH, he was the son of the late Honore J. and Diana C. (Coll) Bonenfant. He received a bachelor's degree from Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH. Gerard was a US Army veteran during the Korean War. He worked as a chemist at Garland Corporation, Brockton, MA. Following his retirement, he worked a few part time jobs. He worked as a Crossing Guard for Hamburg Area School District for about five years. Gerard enjoyed watching television and movies, enjoyed working on the computer, politics, current events, and he enjoyed reading. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Gary O., husband of Lisa M. (MacDougall) Bonenfant, Taunton, MA, Brian G., husband of Marjorie (Jocelyn) Bonenfant, Taunton, MA, and Keith E., husband of Michelle D. (Deesing) Bonenfant, Hamburg; and a daughter: Colleen A. (Bonenfant) wife of Chester D. Neppes, Tilden Twp. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two brothers: Norman Bonenfant, Dover, NH, and Paul Bonenfant, Melbourne, FL. Memorial services will be held Friday July 25, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Twp. A visitation will be held in the funeral home 10:00 to 11:30 A.M.
